Curriculum
This course uses the classical method of Progymnasmata, which is a step-wise approach to teaching writing. Each textbook focuses on a different form of writing and a different aspect of rhetoric. CCA has a two-year rotation for this age group so students can step in either year. For the 2024-25 year students will be using the Classical Academic Press Writing & Rhetoric program (samples can be found on their website). One book will be taught each semester.
Materials to purchase:Writing & Rhetoric Book 9: Thesis Part 2 (Student Edition)*Purchasing the Teacher’s Edition of each text is optional for parents depending on your comfortability correcting their bookwork with or without this resource. Reviewing the samples online may help with this decision.You can purchase the curriculum directly from Classical Academic Press, www.ChristianBook.com, www.RainbowResource.com, or any other outlet as long as books are unmarked. Student textbooks are consumable.
